Avinash was the founding promoter of Asian Oilfield Services Limited (AOSL) and looks after the day-to-day affairs of the company. He is a graduate from IIT Kharagpur. He has been involved with the Oil Services industry since the mid 80’s. His efforts have been instrumental in the company successfully completing most of the challenging assignments in the Indian North East. He possesses over 36 years’ of vast and varied experiences in the Industrial Management with 22 years of extensive experience only in the Oilfield related Services.

Mr. Ajit Kapadia started his career in 1963 as a Process Engineer with Fluor Corporation. In 1971 Mr. Kapadia joined Engineers India Ltd. and had full involvement with Bombay High's development. In 1982, he was appointed as Head of Gas Task Force, group formed by Petroleum Ministry to review the entire country's natural gas availability and utilization pattern. In 1984, he was appointed as First Director (Planning) with GAIL (India) Ltd. Post GAIL, he jointed Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Ltd.(HOEC) where he spent 17 years establishing HOEC as the first private sector oil company in India. He is also member of advisory board of IDFC-PE & Vice Chairman of Centre for Fuel Studies & Research, a Non-Government, Non-For-Profit Organization.

He is a post graduate in English Literature with 10 years of experience in serving boards of several companies including LIC Housing Finance, IFCI, Tata Chemicals Ltd., Punjab Tractors Ltd., Mukand Ltd., Jenson & Nicholson Ltd., Delhi Stock Exchange Association Ltd and many others. He previously worked with LIC of India from 1965 (AAO) till 2002 (Managing Director). He also joined the Sahara Group as CEO and Director of their start up venture--Sahara India Life Insurance Co. Ltd--in Oct.2003 and occupied that position till March 2010.

Prior to founding Samara Capital in late 2006, Sumeet briefly worked at Goldman Sachs, NY in their Proprietary Investments Group. He also has experience with Citigroup’s private equity business in India and Citigroup’s Corporate & Investment Banking business. Sumeet earned a Masters in Business Administration from the Harvard Business School. He also earned a Masters in Business from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

He is a Graduate from Princeton University and M.B.A. from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, has had more than 15 years of rich experience in origination and working on deals spanning M&A , private equity , equity capital markets, distressed debt, structured fund raising and derivatives coving gamut of industries – technology, pharmaceuticals, cement, textiles, infrastructure , oil and gas , telecom and power. In late 2006, he co-founded Samara Capital and is associated with Samara Capital in the capacity of the Managing Director since then. He has consented to act as a Director of the Company.

He is B.Com. with 37 years experience in Banking & Finance. He served in Central Bank of India for 33 years as an Officer, Branch Manager and Regional Manager and finally retired as Chief Internal Auditors , Audit Zone, Nagpur.

Mr. Sanjay Bhargava is B.Tech from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur and PG Diploma in Business Finance, ICFAI University and has over 25 years experience in manufacturing, industrials and real estate (RE) businesses. Prior to joining Samara Capital as a Managing Director, he was with M/s Bombay Burmah Trading Corporation Ltd.,( BBTCL) a Wadia Group Company, as an Executive Vice President & COO from November,2006 to September, 2010, with responsibilities for Business Development. He was instrumental in acquisition and integration of auto component companies, setting up of Real Estate Business for BBTCL, formulation of its key RE projects and other Wadia Group companies. He was also COO of the Building Products Business (laminates) of BBTCL.

He has managed Industrial gases, Catalysts and Specialty Chemical Businesses in his prior stints with M/s Inox Air Products Ltd. as Chief Executive and M/s Parekh Platinum Ltd. as General Manager and was able to significantly increase volumes, profitability and bandwidth of the businesses. He commenced his career with ICI in Manufacturing and Techno-Commercial roles in ICI’s Fertilisers and Catalysts Businesses. He was also responsible for HSE and Quality Assessment aspects of the Catalysts Business.
