More About Mr. Kapil Garg

Mr. Kapil Garg has over three decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, being in leadership roles across organizations like Enron Oil and Gas and the British Gas group etc. He has unparalleled expertise in multi-disciplinary project managements and focused strategic business development. He is passionate in inducting out of the box innovative concepts for project delivery and operational efficiency.

Mr. Garg holds a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) and a Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Furthermore, Mr. Garg, is an avid researcher and lifelong learner, is currently pursuing his Ph.D. at IIT Roorkee, in the modelling of gas jet stream fires, with the ultimate goal and applications of his research to improve the safety of offshore gas pipelines and facilities.

Mr. Kapil Garg is the Founder and Promoter of Oilmax Energy Pvt Ltd, a major player in the oil and gas exploration and production industry, based in Mumbai, India. He founded the company in 2008 and has since transformed it into a key player in the sector.

In addition to his role at Oilmax Energy, he is a prominent speaker and has addressed various industry conferences and events. He is also an active member of several industry associations, including the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Confederation of Indian Industry. He has a passion for teaching and mentoring bright young minds, and is a frequent speaker at several top institutes, like IIT Mumbai.

More About Dr. Rabi Narayan Bastia

Dr. Rabi Narayan Bastia, a reputed personality in the Hydrocarbon Industry whose endeavor has put India into international oil & gas map in a very short span of time. After heading the exploration group of Reliance for more than 16 years he has currently taken up some distinguished and challenging international and domestic assignments. During his tenure in Reliance,he has been the key man behind the largest gas discovery of KG Basin in 2002, for which government of India conferred Padma Shri to him. He is a postgraduate in Petroleum Exploration from Norwegian Technological University, Norway and obtained his Doctoral degree in Geology from IIT, Kharagpur.

He has been awarded D. Sc for the first time in the field of Petroleum research in India from ISMU, Dhanbad which was highly applauded by Alberta University, Canada & Oklahoma University, USA. He has been serving the Indian petroleum industry for about 3 decades in different capacities with distinction.

More About Mrs. Anusha Mehta

Anusha is Management post graduate, with Major in Finance from The Department of Commerce, Lucknow University (LUMBA). She has spent almost a decade working with Premier Orgnizations like HDFC Bank and Barclays Finance in the banking space. At present Anusha runs an advisory firm which connects, inspires and support influential entrepreneurs who want to use business to create a values-driven and sustainable world. She is result-oriented and competent leader with management experience in devising strategies aimed at enhancing overall Organisational growth, Sustained profitability of operations and Improved business performance.

More About Mr. N. M. Borah

Mr. N. M. Borah is a petroleum engineering graduate from the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad with Post Graduate specialization in Petroleum Prospecting and Reservoir Evaluation from the Norwegian Institute of Technology, Trondheim, Norway.

Mr. Borah retired on the 30th April, 2012 from the position of the Chairman & Managing Director of Oil India Limited (OIL), a Navaratna major petroleum NOC in India. Mr. Borah was engaged actively in strategic and business development of OIL including E&P activities overseas. During his stint as OIL’s CMD, the company’s oil and gas production sustained unprecedented growth and registered the highest ever annual crude oil production in the history of the company till date. During that period, the operational acreage portfolio saw significant expansion both within India and overseas. The company experienced a very successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) in September, 2009 and its stock has been performing very well in the market ever since. He was also a Director in the Board of Numaligarh Refinery Limited. He has travelled widely to different parts of the world representing his company and the Government of India in various technical seminars, conferences and business meetings. He is credited with a number of papers presented in national and international conferences

After superannuation from OIL, Mr. Borah served the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity (APTEL) as a Technical Member (Petroleum & Natural Gas).

Prior to his taking over as Chairman & Managing Director of Oil India Limited, Mr. Borah was Director (Operations) of OIL and, in this capacity, he was responsible for the company’s exploration, development, resource management, oil, gas and LPG production and pipeline business in North-east India. He played a key role in accelerating hydrocarbon exploration in the geological frontier areas in the North-east India. Among his interests, expediting gas monetization, revitalization of old depleting oilfields, and international Business Development through overseas asset acquisition are of special significance.

Mr. Borah is a distinguished Member of Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), USA and Society of Petroleum Geophysics (SPG), India. He is a past Chairman, SPE, New Delhi Chapter and also a former President of Indian Geological Congress. He is also a former Chairman, Board of Governors of a National Institute of Technology in India. He is a founding member of the prestigious Delhi and the NCR Chapter of the Project Management Associates. Mr. Borah was the President of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) in India during 2011- 12. Amongst other recognitions, Mr. Borah was conferred with the distinguished SCOPE award for Excellence and Outstanding Contribution in Public Sector Management (2009-10) by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India and the Business Leadership award (2010-11) by New Delhi Television (NDTV), one of the most prominent news and current affairs TV channels in India. He also has the distinction of being honoured as a Most Distinguished Alumnus of the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad.

His hobbies include reading, cooking, golf and travelling. He is conversant with English, Hindi, Assamese and Bengali.

More About Mr. Mukesh Jain

Mr. Mukesh Jain is alma mater of Shri Ram College of Commerce and Delhi School of Economics, New Delhi and is a law graduate from K. C. College, Mumbai.

Mr. Jain practices banking and real estate law with focus on transaction structuring and regulatory framework. Besides he has devised customized products for anchor HNI clients. He graduated in 1976 and started his career as a probationary officer with Oriental Bank of Commerce in 1977. During his tenure at OBC he authored the first draft of documentation manual for the Bank in the year 1985. After his tenure at the bank, he rendered banking advisory to his clients from 1989 to 2007.

He started his law practice in the year 1997 and synergized it with my understanding of banking and finance to build a niche practice. As the legal practice took roots, he discontinued financial advisory. Initially the legal practice comprised both litigation and non-litigation practice. However, gradually the focus was shifted to non-litigation practice.

More About Mr. Brij Mohan Bansal

Mr. Brij Mohan Bansal, possesses around 46 years of experience in Oil and Gas sector in areas spanning Business Development, R&D, Refining and Technical Services.

Mr. Bansal joined Indian Oil Corporation Ltd in 1974 and with his shear passion and hard work rose to the position of Chairman of this giant corporation. As Director (Business Development) he worked for identification and implementation of new businesses (related to oil sector) and was nodal person in putting Indian Oil on Petrochemicals and LNG/ Gas map of India. He was actively involved in cross- border deals, Merger and Acquisitions, scouting for strategic partners across the globe and formation of JVs, Refinery management, and overall management of the companies as chairman / CEO, leading high level delegations for G to G discussions and developed good relations with Oil Companies.

His academic back ground consists of B.Tech in Chemical Engineering and PG Diploma in Process Plant Engineering from prestigious Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He was awarded the coveted Alumni Award in 2008-09 for outstanding contribution to National Development.

After his retirement from Indian Oil in 2011, he joined Mauritian consultancy company (DCDM) for a year followed by working as CEO of ‘Kenya Petroleum Refineries Ltd’ in Mombassa for two years. In 2014, he joined Gulf Petrochem (now GP Global) as Strategic Director and left in end 2016. GP Global deals in storage and trading of Petroleum Products and Coal, across the globe.

Mr. Bansal has served on Boards of many organizations Viz. Lubrizol India, Engineers India, CPCL, IOTL, PLL, GPPL and JBF industries.

Presently, Mr. Bansal is based in New Delhi, India and works as independent consultant and Adviser to M/s Box LNG Pvt. Ltd.
